Thanks very much to all of you for the positive response.

I'm going back to torquay next weekend to collect the S, the 205 is being finished off in Cornwall, so I'll stop by and get photos of both, hopefully together!

Welcome Rich.

I suspect there will be many people asking you a lot of questions too.

Yes- where did you get the wheel arches from?

Where are the seats?

What does it weigh? 600kg's?

Don't bother posting about S2000's.

Niiiiice Pug!

Great lift off oversteer, my best mate had a 1.9 back in the early 90s and we used to badger him all the time for a drive.

It's an unusual swap, the ATR engine, most people seem to go for an Mi16 so it'll be interesting to see how the Honda car goes. What made you go for that engine?

The ATR engine certainly is an unusual swap. Sandy (who is doing the wiring and mapping for me) had the engine in his outwardly base spec 309 trio. I think it would be fair to say some Impreza drivers probably felt a bit sheepish.....

The reason for not using an Mi16 is that they're all old and fragile these days. They only make 155 bhp as standard, and have a renowned oil surge problem, which isn't brilliant when using cut slicks!

The GTi-6 engine is better, but has a cast iron block. Getting either of these engines to reliably produce the same power as an ATR engine on jenvey throttle bodies costs more than the fabrication work to get the Honda lump in and running, so it seemed like the sensible option to me.

One of my good friends is putting a CTR engine and box into a 309 as we speak. If you enjoy seeing meticulous and thorough car overhauls you could do worse than have a look at this thread:

Thanks again for all the positive comments, I'm getting pretty excited about collecting the S on Saturday!
