I have a mondeo and a focus beater and out of the two i'd get a focus.

If you have more money to spend get a mondeo 2.0 tdci estate (130bhp)...

But if your spending around

Nope - K-series in the main.

KV6 in some cases.

Although fewer HG problems with front mounted units than in the mid engined cars (Elise & MGF).

A good budget buy if it's been maintained.

Though I'd be going Swedish if I wanted another car to use and abuse, the Saab 9000 or Volvo 850 will take all you can chuck at them and never flinch. Saab is based on the same platform as the Alfa 164 so handles OK for a big 'un, get a 2.3 Turbo and it has a fair turn of speed too.

hey all, thanks for all the suggestions.

A few of them are just to much to insure lol.

The main ones im looking at to be honest are the focus and the celica GT

the focus, is allot newer then the celica, cheaper to insure, and has loads of room for what i want it for. However, ive no idea how reliable they are!

the celica, is just cooler, has enough room and is fast. however, it will be 3-4 years old then the focus, so maybe rusting and more unreliable, plus

Luke, Focus's are great cars. I do loads of work on them and theyre really good reliable cars (and they dont handle too bad either).
In my opinion dont get a Rover 75, Ive got 2 at work at the moment waiting for rad fan units.... .three hundred and seventy quid!!!!

The other thing you could consider is a mk2 Golf GTI, cheap to run, parts available everywhere, bullet proof, go on forever, fairly quick and you will have loads of change left over<especially if you go or a 4 door. Just go for a later one with power steering

Or mk3 GTI, same as the mk2, newer, more refined but slower.
