Help Me Find A Beater
Im a bit of a VW man so a bit biased, ive owned 2 mk1 GTIs and ive just sold my Corrado G60 which i was very sad to see go after 6 years and a Mk3 Golf VR6. My Mk1 used to do regular three figure mileages on motorways, even when i deliberately tried to blow the engine up by bouncing off the limiter in top cos i had a transplant for it, it would not blow, and by the way, i checked the oil and there was only 1 litre in it!!!! Still kept going though...until the lampost.....

the focus, is allot newer then the celica, cheaper to insure, and has loads of room for what i want it for. However, ive no idea how reliable they are!
mind says Focus
mind says Focus
Unlike my previous 911 it always starts no matter how long it's left for (within reason) it does drive well and has the additional bonus of being able to drop the rear seats and having small van like proportions.
It has its minor electrical gremlins with the central locking which I don't think is unusual but it doesn't affect anything and the pedal box comes loose and makes a funny noise. These seem to be the common issues but neither are serious. Oh and the rear drivers door of mine is starting to rust along the sill but I'll get one of the bay for pennies.

Go with your head. I've owned my Focus for 4 years and spent very very little on it indeed. It's had two new springs and apart from servicing that is all.
