Hi all

My friend's friend has a Civic VTI coupe that he's getting rid of and I need a new daily car since my other car got writen off. Was wondering if anyone knows much about these cars? Its done 145,000 miles I know its an old car and things go wrong on cars with age but is there anything else that I maybe should worry about?

The B series engine really is bomb proof, it'll easily double that mileage if maintained properly and not ragged when cold.

Car itself will probably have the usual rusty arches..

Its a 98/99 S reg

 

I had an aero deck one of these on an R plate. It had 108k on it when I bought it and 134k when I sold it. The only issues in that time were related to the clutch letting go at the full 8k redline and the subsequent crash gearing to get home. Synchro in 3rd went so a new box was needed.

I genuinely loved that car, I was sorry to see it go and above all, it was probably the most reliable fuss free car I've ever owned.

But these are all easily fixable and they are a great little hooligan car. We had one for 12 years.
