How fast is fast enough?

Whilst that is undoubtebly true and it makes a lot of difference, never type it again - 1,000 rpm less and you'd sound like one of those TDS drivers!
I was waiting for a comment like that... torque is nothing without bhp!
But torque with bhp is great and I have never really experienced it like this before.
The power from standstill, out of bends and overtaking is really good fun.

Unless it's capable of scaring me at least a little, it's not fast enough.
And this is why a Spitfire feels fast when it isn't.
And why an S4 feels slow when it isn't.

That says it all really

Simple way to find out is go to your local sports car showroom, preferably one with Caterhams or Westfields and ask to take one for a spin on a country road.
No, in fact lets be specific, arrange to test drive a Westie S2000 or a Caterham R500.
Make sure you take it down some twisties, rather than A roads or your local track.
There are very few things that give such a..... how can I describe this........speed/corner/correction/speed/corner/nappy combination!
i know a couple of A3/exA3 drivers.. and Andy
the none petrolheads are bmw wannabe's. A3 must be one of the dullest cars on this earth. even the S3 is dull despite a competent turn of pace.
EDIT or did you mean poor S3 cos Andy had owned it?

Now this A3, S3 baiting initially surprises me.
They're an aesthetically pleasing car for a hatchback, certainly the previous model, however they were a bit dull to drive.
I have noticed though that they're entering into chav territory. ie big wheels, lowered shocks, biiiig stereo and some spotty little gimp driving it.
I noticed two whilst travelling back from the station last night.

That's undoubtably true, Rich.
Yet ultimately, they're a slightly pretentious and expensive Golf-clone.
It's just rather a case of badge-engineering bit too far. Just like the Riley Elf version of the IssiMini; the denizen of the M&S car park.
