The one thing I would say with an 06 plate like TO06LEY is that it may not look like a private plate to everyone now, but in 10+ years time it will be 'more' like a private plate when it is clearly on a newer than 06 car. When I originally paid £250 for a J-reg plate it was only a few years older than the second hand car and a lot of people didn't notice. But put that on a five year old car now and it's more obviously associated with me.

The other thing to consider, is what other plates will come available in the future? For you, only really TO88LEY I guess - in about 24 years time!

Back to your original question - I'd think it was worth about £500 to £750.

I paid £250 for S20 OCJ but don't think I would have paid much more. I've just let it go with my car as wasn't worth the hassle putting it on retention (gone into Company car).

My wife bought a car for the number plate on it, R***UTH,she transfered the plate, requested a new prefix
for the car,did all the transfers,and then re sold the car for a profit,win win
