Default I could do with some comments I think

It's raining torrentially here, and the road I was turning out of a junction into was flooded. There was a car to my right a good 50m away (this is a 30 zone) so I pulled out, knowing full well the Elise will be able to pull a gap no problem. I slowed for the flooding to see the Land Rover mount the kerb, hammer past and cover the car in water. I thought I would just overtake him agian and be done with it, but he thinks otherwise.

He then swerves into the opposite side of the road as I overtake, and then slams on the brakes. I hit the back of him and he drives off. I then follow for the next 2 or 3 miles flashing to get him to pull the f**k over, when eventually he does so outside a busy shop. I jump out of the car and confront the c**t who is half in and half out of his car. He's bricking it. I look at his leg dangling and think now is as good a time as any to slam the door on it and mount an almighty kicking on him.

For some reason I opt not to (we're right outside this shop and it's on amain road), and instead argue pointlessly with him. I ask him for his address and he refuses, but likewise I would not have wanted to give this filthy bastard my address. I go into the shop to get a pen and paper to get his address (too angry to have tried to memorise it), and he drives off.

Part of me feels that I should have hospitalised him, part of me is glad I didn't for fear of reprisals in terms of Police action and revenge on me and the car. I know I shouldn't have reacted to him by attempting to re-pass him, and I will deal with that in future.

But now I keep thinking the word will be out to find out among the hicks in the sh*tty villages to find out where the red Lotus parks, with a view to f**king it up. The car just needs a needs plastic headlamp cover which I can source for next to nothing so that's not an issue. I'm just angry now that not only did I not give him the kicking that 10% of me feels he deserved, and that I didn't get his number plate.

Just wound up I suppose, no permanent damage has been done anywhere, and I suppose I have the satisfaction that he was genuinely in fear of a beating once the red mist had gone from while he was in his clapped out 4x4. How sad that your nose is put out of joint by a nice car pulling onto "your" road that you feel the need to do everything possible to f**k that car up with your own piece of crap? What is the world coming to?

If you hit the back of him, it will be very difficult to prove it wasn't your fault

Chill out mate, you've been playing TDU too much

I was borderline for most of the argument.

Good job you didn't escalate it - you'd have ended up in trouble to be honest.

I had a "plenty of room...oh shit" moment myself on the way to work the morning. There's a mini roundabout I turn right at, onto the main road through a 30.

Bloke to the right, some 6 or 7 car lengths away approaching, nothing to the left to give way to me, so I go for it to turn right. Only the twats doing at least 40-45 and nearly clobbers me, blaring his horn.

Now I don't know about anyone else, but "giving way" on a mini roundabout doesn't apply when the nearest vehicle with right of way is some 6 or 7 car lengths away does it?

by the sound of things, he will be more worried about you finding him

pulling over where he did is a pretty good indicator of that

a psychopath would have picked a quiet spot

just exercise extra care for a week or three

in the meantime, preferably tonight, write down the details of him driving off, who you spoke to in the shop etc

just in case you get a claim from his insurance or a visit from the Police

although I'd be surprised if he has your reg

I wouldn't say so. Pretty similar to the sort of distance tw@t face was from me. People just don't like you driving on "their" road. You should tuck in behind them. Especially if you drive a nice car.

I think it most definitely does G

and pulling out in a sports car is inviting trouble from someone who knows they will be in the right in the event of a collision

his/her speed is pretty irrelevant tbh

you should wait unless you can be certain you won't force them to change speed/direction to accomodate you

I do sympathise - it's part of the politics of envy and spite that seem very commonplace

but I would be mad if you forced me to brake when it was my right of way
