Impreza 22B - Would you?
I think Impreza's are chav tat, mainly because they've become too plentiful and too cheap. I have however secretly harboured a wee fancy for the 22B since they appeared in '98. It's the only one that looked like a proper rally car, with the flared arches, had a 2.2 litre engine, and was based on the Jap 2dr coupe body.
I've seen a couple of examples around the 20k mark and am still tempted. Anyone know much about them and if they are a good or bad buy?

They were pretty hardcore IIRC. They do look so when you see them though.
I seem to remember reading (in my impreza days!) that you can no longer get panels for them and have to have them hand made for the car if you have an off.

If you get one, I want a passener ride

I'm surprised they appeal to you but what a cool car
I would imagine it's one of those cars you'd have to really want as I don't reckon it'd be easy or cheap to run.
Maybe MB would know more?

It's looking likely we're moving to mid-Wales in the near future.
The roads (as Tuff Noodles pointed out last night) are ideal for the Impreza, seeing the P1 in Wales last night got me thinking too.
Completely agree with you Gaz when you say they're chav tat in the main, but can't help thinking that in the right environment, such as where we're moving to..........

But it's harder and rarer. And not every chav and their dog can have one.
That means if you own one, you're different from the scum. It makes owning one less painful and makes you less of a hypocrite than if you just drove the same generic (but fast) shite as them.
I'm fed up with the Lotus dealer just now, so am thinking about other cars in a sort of cutting my nose off to spite my face sort of way.
