That's the Duratec I think - very easy to tune.

2009 for the Fury MrB? So what's going to fill the gap?

A horse and cart I'd say.

I'm confused then Rich

I thought the Duratec was the V6 (the thing they splice together and stick in an Aston )

rather than the 2.3 four

Duratec isn't just one specific engine Pete, more like a period in time for the evolution of Fords engines. The old 2.5 V6 was the first, now the newer Mondeo engines 2.0 etc are also Duratec. Bit like Zetec, came in different sizes. Usually loads of info on Wikipedia if you're really interested

The Duratec 2.0l four pot now seems to be the engine of choice for Westfield and Caterham. It's all alloy and not too heavy, not as light as it should be, and big power gains are very easy to get. A standard 2.0l with ITB gives 192bhp.

Gearboxes that can be used, as far as I know, are MT75 and Type 9 and probably the Caterham 5 & 6 speed. The V6 version is a nice motor and the MT75 would be a good 'box although I'm not sure what bellhousings are around.

The 2.3 Duratec is the engine Cosworth tune up for the Caterham and produces 260bhp.

Thought so - 260bhp out a light weight 2.0L is pretty good

Pretty expensive to acheive too. I'm aiming for about 200 from my 2l. Should be interesting enough
