M3 CSL
A while ago i told you all about my race against my friends tuned M3, and how badly I lost... well i also mentioned that his brother has a CSL.
I drove it tonight. And to drive one is to want one!
Getting in the seats feel perfect, like the car is shrinked wraped around you, you sit lower than the normal M3, making slow speed manuvouring tricky and the SMG gearbox doesn't help much in that regard either.
But find an open stretch of road, select the most aggressive gear change, press the sport button and 120 is achivable is seconds. The car feel so taught, press the trottle and its instanly surges forward, pull a gear, there is the briefist of pauses and off you go again. Wailing toward the secenery giggling like a loon!
Hit the brakes, lock them up if you wish, pull down a gear and the car balances the revs and engages third, turn in, push the trottle and the amount of grip is amazing. I certainly was nowhere near the limit and was going faster than i would have dared in my S.
It was such a thrill, i know people say that changing gear is part of the driving experince, but i really felt like i was going far to fast to take my hands from the wheel! People call cars "licence losers"... the S isn't. After that drive I'm supprised that I'm a free man to type this!
Cancel the White S - Next car is a CSL!

IIRC, wasn't it optional?
Same with the radio?
Same with the radio?
Or did that mean the CSL was no longer called a CSL?
Same with the slicks I think?

Weird thing I heard about these (someone I know is buying one) a dealer told him that if you engage the launch control 3 times it invalidates the warranty - well how would you know if you bought it second hand - there is no way of finding out. Also isn't it a bit odd - like putting aircon in a car and telling you not to use it. Anyway - not sure if it's true but the dealer (think it was Reading) was pretty sure.
Isn't there some sort of disclaimer to sign about tyres too?
Stonking car by all accounts though!!
