What a load of bolshoi
I totally agree!

My freind asked for the blokes name & said he was going to check this with BMW UK - he was most insistent that they'd had a car in that had been refused warranty work because of it. But was also very eager to get off the phone (to check his facts) lol.

Almost worth calling the bloke in question to grill him further on it!

I had a sit in one at the dealers recently-a secondhand one. Awesome car but not my cup of tea. If I go out in the S its roof down enjoy the sunshine and scenery-OK its got plenty of go for overtaking and corners well but thats secondary for me to just being out in the fresh air and enjoying the whole "package". I have 3 BMWs (well wife's car and 2 bikes) but find the dealers C*** and I'm not sure I like the other BMW drivers around.

I've heard this, isn't it just that 'over-use' is considered bad?

Anyway, why on earth would you want launch control on a road car? You couldn't even use it on track days.

Great cars and I'd have one in the snap of a finger (or even the standard M3) but they're in the next price bracket from the S and I just can't see that I would ever afford one in the near future.

Plus my wife would probably leave me if I ever bought a BMW.

Apparently it's like a formula one smoking tyre standing start.

Nobody would ever want to do that at a traffic light gp situation with anyone watching.

They won't be soon - keep looking - the current gen is being dropped very quickly now the v8 is close.

IIRC, wasn't it optional?

Same with the radio?
Yeah, but then you just call it a CS.

Carbon fibre roof was the most weight saving measure after the A/C omission.
