Default Are the M42 gantry cameras active?

I thought the M42 gantry cameras were activated when the variable speed limits were introduced ~ 12 months ago. However, my best mate is an emergency response doctor and frequently flies through at 110-120mph without receiving a single ticket. Usually the response doctors receive a ticket and then it is up to the ambulance HQ to confirm the doctor was in fact on an emergency response.

has anyone been done by a gantry camera on the M42?

I think that the ones on the M25 are only active when the speed limits are lowered due to conditions - perhaps the M42 ones are the same ?

could be lucky? i know that a large number of the gantry's dont have cameras. seems to be the ones at the begining and end and in the middle section almost done.

of course the cameras are only activated when there is a speed restriction

When I drove from Chris's to the M40, my snooper was going mental at every bridge.

He has an Origin B2 like me and you can also see which gantries have them as you can see the cameras above the other carriageway pointing in your direction.

I'll have to ask him if he's gone through at speed when the speed limit has been dropped below 70.

Everytime i've been through there my twat-nav has a trauma beeping away at each gantry. I use the monthly updated database so i'm assuming their accuracy for those cameras that work or don't should be spot on. They've always been right on the mark for SPEC's etc.
