Do your clients wait outside for you to turn up?

In 99% of client meetings that I go to the client never see's my car.

When they have they have been fine about it. Everyone has to make a living, and it is a sign that you are doing well and your business must be too?

There is a massive difference between a honda even if it is a convertible and an aston, a TVR or dare I say it a P******!

Part of the reason I bought the S was that I run a business and don't want to upset clients/staff by leaving something flash in the car park. Many people see the S as on the same rung as the MX5 and those that don't think it is a poor mans boxter which suits me fine

You obviously have very different clients to me!

While they don't wait outside, the car parks tend to be small and my car will stick out like a sore thumb

I'm not saying that they will get all envious and clout me around the head with a traffic cone, but I also don't want to tempt fate either. Sure, maybe in a few years when my business is more established then maybe I'd feel comfortable taking the S but as it stands at the moment I'm not comfortable taking it to a new client.

Alex, are you worried by the value of your car or the impression a two-seater sports car gives?

Also you say your car will stick out like a sore thumb, is that not the impression you want to give to clients that they should choose your company because you can offer something different from all the other companies offering the same type business?

Is that not part of the reason for choosing you over your competitors?

Interesting cars also add to the conversation, plus your S2000 is about the same price as a similar aged well speced 3 series or even a newish Ford Focus, just the S2000 is a lifestyle choice rather a family stuck with two similar family orientated cars!

Clearly the choice is yours but I think you should review your reason for getting rid of it just because the impression it gives potential clients!

Just some thoughts for you

Thanks James, an interesting spin on things

Note that I am not getting rid of the S because of the impression it may / may not give to potential clients, I think that we've gone off on a bit of a tangent!

The reason I am considering getting rid is because in November we will be a family of three, and three into a 2-seater does not go. The upshot of this is that the S will go largely unused, which would be a waste.

No probs, just the impression I got from your earlier posts.

Hmmm, you need to find reasons to go out often on your own! .......

Come on people lets help him out :-

You will go and do the shopping on your own, the S is more than capable
You are going to work

some more ideas people
Also find a gullible baby sitter and go out together

Maybe a boot rack plus baby seat could give the little'un a great view!

Speaking of which, must contact Rob about his boot rack that's still under my bed unpaid for....!

my car lives in the garage these days.

i've done 4k in the last year and i'll do less this year. probably 2-3k. it's a total toy but was a daily driver.

i could sell it and save some money.

but then i could cut my c0ck off and stop drinking.

We are a family of 5. Although my wife has another "family" car having the S does cause some problems, i.e. I can only take one of the kids at a time.
The only way I can justify it is that the S is my daily driver.
From previous posts it sounds like you wouldn't use the S for work, so I think logically you are fooked, so this will boil down to a head vs. heart decision.

Good luck!

You'll miss her if she isn't there though

Now I no longer own an S2000 I dont even notice them when they're
parked up hardly. Doubt many would see it as flash. Keep it for fun.
