mpg
That is bad - what kind of driving is that?
I've just got back from a 2,000mile round trip - Essex to the Highlands and back. Averaged 28mpg in my 330Ci; giving it some beans on the A / B roads and cruise control @ 80mph on motorways.

I cant understand how people are getting such low figures thats RX8 figures and we all know what the Wankle rotary is like for thirst!!
I drive mine in VTEC 80% of the time and get 260-270 miles to a tank which is about 29-30mpg

So on ten minute journey, 8 of those minutes are above 6000rpm all the time??
OP, if it's an S2000 and you're getting 18.5mpg on a long journey, I'd get the car checked out. It could be overfuelling which will cause some serious problems down the line.
Cars always use more fuel when using cruise control, engine constantly adjusting to correct speed.
My S does about mid 20's normally unless SHE has used it and it's into the high teens since it's all town work, I did achieve high 30's once, piss poor weather on a long haul from Torquay to Scotland up the m/way system at 50/60 mph. Bloody long journey at that speed in really heavy rain.
