One other thing its a 2000 plate for 5000 but parkers reckon it worth 6400 so that looks a bit dodgy
What's the spec/mileage? It's not necessarily dodgy. Could also be an import. Values aren't as good as they could be.

The fact that they only have 140bhp and no boot space puts people off. But it doesn't need any more power as they're about 250kg lighter than an S2000 for example ( I think)

Although you can never have too much power.

Square number plate is the usual thing. If you have the reg http://www.rac.co.uk/web/vehiclechecks/dvla_lookup/

TBH, that's a reasonable price. Parkers over values IMHO. CAP is the real value of the car.

The fact it's called MR-S roadster and not MR2.

I did wonder at that. But people have changed the badges. Ask to see the log book and manuals. The UK ones are hard to get hold of without actually buying a UK car.

MR-S in Japan (Spyder in US - US Forum www.spyderchat.com).

As chilled said the plates will be square, and things like the instructions on the sun visors will be in Jap, and the rear fog light will usually be aftermarket (and have a red light on the button, and not have a light on the dash).

Also look in the front window for a "made in Japan" sticker. I believe some Toyotas are made in France and the creak and rattle more (daft I know - also not sure if they made the MR2 in France, don't think so, but worth checking).

Jamie

The UK models actually have a "Roadster" badge on the right hand rear.

Dive over to www.mr2roc.co.uk - I'm sure theyve got a common faults section

Hi all, I am going to see an MR2 tonight (2000) with a friend and wondered if anyone could tell me if there is anything I should be looking for?

thanks
It is slower than a Carerra 4S

Although the basic 996 might struggle
