Just saw it. It was a jap import. He is gonna go back and take a look in the daylight tomorrow but it drives well.

The engine sounded rately to me . It may be ok but perhaps tappets need adjusting, or do they sound like that anyway ?

Also the front lights were very misty, can they be changed? They just look like plastic so maybe cheap to replace.

Saw the service book but most was in japanese. It had the speedo conv to mph from kmh

any advice?

For that kind of money you can pick up a UK car, so I'd leave it. Also Toyota don't seem to want to touch Jap import cars, should he wish to get Toyota to do the services and MoT's.

Maybe 5k is a bit low tbh. The bottom end of the market starts around 6-7k.
But I did find this one online, but it is a CAT D

5000 is good I reckon even though its a jap import. I spose the parts will be the same price wont they? Insurance may be a little higher I reckon
