New CTR
I recall much derision that the new CTR in fact has gained weight with no power increase but the latest info I read in Autocar yesterday shows there is a power increase....of 1 BHP, weight gain is countered with reduced gearing, but interestingly the engine now revs out to 8000rpm up from 7800 & the peak torque, 144lb/ft although unchanged comes in at a lower rpm, 5700 just before cam profile changeover.
The weight penalty may be due to std A/C over the quoted weight of the first CTR without this?
Price has gone up mind.
Also talk of two specials, a proper stripped out CTR like the first ITR's were, no A/C, no rear seats, strut bar in its place, no sound deadening etc, but HUK are believed to think its not marketable...
And a full Touring cars 'spec' thats not road legal but for track work only....

Type RR, I heard.
Rolls Royce?
Range Rover?
Reliant Robin?!
Brand marketing gone mad. BMW sells the stripped Mini GP, Renault sells the stripped Clio Cup... why can't Honda do a bare basics Type-R Civic? How hard can it be?!
