I'm not making this up...

'We' have now decided that the Fiesta's rear end may rule it out

Colour trumps make - a "light gree/turquoisely/bluish" hue is favourite - the Auris comes in such a colour but...

Heated seats are required which are not available on the Auris

I don't think I'll bother with going any greyer

I'll just shave my head and have done with it

Positive noises have also been made about the last gen Civic (without driving one of course) but I think they have dated very badly

That's why I just gave Kate a budget and sent her off on her own to find something. I just went with her on the day she picked it up.

That's the best way, have just done the same with Dawn for her next car.

Karen was absolutely smitten with the GT86 on the test drive and it's only got worse - she is now interested in learning drifting/control techniques.

Guess some of us just have it easy...

PS - Pete; if looking where you're going is of zero import, the Toblerone Civic isn't such a bad choice overall. Bagpuss Civic if it is of relevence.

yes, but you have both met Jules

it's possible she would return with an A35 pickup constructed largely of Isopon

It would be characterful, if not reliable. Wasn't it James Hunt who loved his A35 budgie transporter, there must be something in them.

Kate chose an Accord, not exactly automotive mogadon but it hardly sets the world on fire. Baby brain choice I think, I feel Rich may have the same trouble with Dawn - at least Kate went for the 2.4 petrol.

gaddafi - have you considered the CR-Z at all? Despite a few mediocre reviews, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw one at Chiswick Honda. The driving experience was nothing compared to the S2000, but that is to be expected. The cabin had enough modern toys and the exterior is pretty 'funky'. Running costs should be okay, given the 'hybrid' nature. Only downside is the rear seat/space - lack of. It's very tight, okay for small children or shopping bags. I'd be interested to know why you may have ruled the CR-Z out....

EDIT: just seen you're after 5 doors! On the plus side, it did have heated leather seats (only available on the top spec one though).

Would be good to hear feedback . They are quite pricey though....

Shit visibility and poor driving position of the CR-Z is an affront to trad Honda virtues.
