Default Nicked for speeding last week

First 3 points in a very long time. On a quiet stretch of Nottm ring road, 10mph over the 40 limit

Now the f@#kers offer you a speed awareness course

at a cost of £92 and half a day of preaching!

balls to that, being a contractor that means losing a days work and my insurers dont care about this offence so...

I'd take the speed course and the £92 just in case you get done again and don't get the offer

Agreed. Can't you make the hours up with your client?

I agree too, your insurance might not be too happy with 6 points and you might end up paying a lot more over the next 5 years than a days work.

It happens. Everyone knows it's just a tax.

Like I have said before, when my bike got nicked from my garage, I got a lecture on how I should have locked it up from the forensics guy who came and made a mess of my garage door and told me no finger prints could be seen.

way too expensive for me Unc

Odds are with me (first nick in >10 years) and they've not offered just asked if i'd take it.
Just more taxation, the road in question is not an accident hotspot.

they can have £60 and feck off

edit it says you can do speed awareness up to +10% +9mph over the limit so if i got done again for the same i could take that to keep it to 3 points. it makes no mention of prev conviction but you cant take the course twice so i'll keep that in my back pocket i think.

last thing i want to do is listen to some health and safety prick telling me how dangerous 45 in a 40 is.

If you want to save money take the points for this one and the course for the next as they're about to increase the fine to £100.

I've just done the course - 4 hours so you don't lose a whole day's work - far from being "some health and safety prick telling me how dangerous 45 in a 40 is" it's an advanced driving instructor refreshing the class's knowledge on what the limit is in different situations (I was surprised how ignorant most of the class were) and also going through some advanced driving theory. I thought it was quite good, at least I got something for my money.

I enjoyed the course. Especially the bit about breaking distances and gear choice for different speed limits. Some of the stuff they tried to teach us was almost laughable. I would take the course.

I stupidly ended up in a hoon with another Honda on my way to Knockhill BTCC last week on the A68.

I know I triggered one camera, but I'm just waiting to hear the bad news.

The words 'old enough to know better' come to mind.
