If you take the course that fact still lingers. If you get another pull within 1 year you swing for the 3 points you thought you had swerved as well. Also, if you get another tug within 3 years of the date of taking the course you won't get the option of a course. You get choices as to where and when so taking the course could fit around a 'working from home' day? But of course all the Aussie gits at work know you're on here so that's fecked

edit: it was a good refresher course by an experienced instructor

i cant see a reason for taking the course if they can still hold the points in lieu?

the only reason to take it is to not get the points, it's 1.5x more expensive than FP ignoring my lost earnings, a lot worse than that for me losing 0.5 days work min.

i may as well hold onto the option of the course for the 2nd hit (god forbid) as then i'd only get the pts if i get stung again (3rd hit). i found a mobile camera spot list here , i'll just use alternate routes. i dodged the Upton one recently but i did think he'd got me there too, must've been asleep

f@#kers

EDIT

anyone use this?

Tut tut! What next? Going around roundabouts the wrong way!

Just done my speed awareness course yesterday. Very very dull. Its the secondtime i've done it except now you dont go out in a car with an instructor. Speed is the biggest killer in the world, more dangerous than guns and knives. maybe..........

One thing i would like to add is that there is no mention about these 3 points in lieu, im not sure thats correct as i read all the information throughly and as far as they are concerned when youve completed the course thats it no further issue's.

They do keep your details for 3 years but only to ensure you dont do another course within the 3 years. I've done two now. 39 in a 30 which i admit i was in the wrong and it was near a school but more recently i got caught doing 80mph apparantly in a 70mph. Not sure that i was doing those speeds but what can you do!

Free biscuits, tea and coffee at the one I attended in Plymouth a few months back. Was also quite an informative/refreshing few hours.

Very interesting to meet some of the dregs of Devon too. Some dozy bint was complaining to the group about her benefits being cut and not being able to claim the cost of the course back. Most of the group were in agreement that those on benifits shouldn't be able to afford a car in the first place. She pretty much STFU after that!

I did one about fifteen years ago. I was unusual, most of the rest of the group were coppers who'd been caught speeding off duty

The Police are useless, I've exceeded the speed limit on more than one occasion and have not been caught as yet...
