More specifically, it's because the parents cannot work out why their sprogs are so obnoxious, when they've bought them everything & wait on them hand & foot & taxi them everywhere & let them eat exactly what they want when they want etc.
Then you've got the education system & TV, guaranteed to give them celebrity culture & ADD, so that the politicos can waste money & not listen to the people to feather their own celebrity status instead.
Which is great for the marketeers, who tell people exactly what their desires are and how to extend their credit so they don't look like a failure in front of their staus-obsessed peers.
And so they worry about debt and whilst their kids drive them mad in the HP SUV in the school run traffic jam caused by the lack of investment because of all the quangos needed to deal with all the people imported to give the illusion of a booming economy.
It's quite simple really...

the 'successful' chav is alive and well though - see coleeeeeen for exhibit A. And every other footballer/their wife for exhibits B to inifinity
These people have cash but are not civilised. Whereas i'm skint but perfectly civilised (stay away from my vandals thread or you might doubt me

i was on my bike this morning and the traffic was awful... but the pavements were empty
i enjoy it more this way because as a cyclist you can really p1ss the drivers off as you fly past
