Hi,

My girlfriends silver car has been scuffed by probably a corsa of the red variety, leaving a nice red mark on the side of her door

Can anyone recommend any specific product to help remove it please ?

Try cellulose paint thinners, on a rag. Then a compound & wax to hide the scratches.

Be careful, because if it's been bodged by Chips Away before, it'll remove that too!
