Default How To Remove Paintball Stain From Paint ?

Some kid shot my car with a paintball gun and it dried on my paint. I already washed it off but there's still a trace of it that I can see. It looks almost like dried up soda on my paint.

I tried buffing it out with my Porter Cable and some 3M swirl mark remover with no success. I also tried a bit of gasoline and also some alcohol with no luck either.

If anyone knows how to remove this paintball stain from my paint please let me know.

clay was invented to remove paint overspray by body shops...
so ditto to the above suggestion-

if clay doesnt get it, then you have to go to much more aggressive techniques (sanding)- our thread on paint chip repairs has details on this...

you could also try more aggressive polishes- but first try the clay and report back-

The paint in paintballs isnt really paint. Its based on a food-grade dye. Im not sure what is good at removing food coloring but I would start with a little bit of blood from the bastard who shot your S.

Ok.. I just used the clay bar with no success. When I run my hand over the "splat" mark I can feel a texture. It's like a damn layer that won't come off, and to make it worst it's a hazy cloudy color until I rub it with my hand.

I read somewhere that PB Blaster and some elbow grease will do it. Do you guys recommend that? And what about denatured alcohol? Will those harn the clear coat?

can you pick the splatted-paint off, or is it part of the car paint now?

as long as you are not scratching the clear you shouldnt harm it with non-acid products-

i will see if i can get tech support from autogeek on this too...

I can't pick off the splat marks with my fingernail. It seems like it's mended with the clear coat.

Yeah, if you can get me any additional info that would be great.

Since you have used gas already, you really would need a very strong compound like XMT #4, if that does not work you need to wet sand.
