Not sure that's much of an upgrade from the S2000? By all accounts more of a lazy GT than a driver's car. Nice V6 though, apparently.

I'd put the 220 in the same bracket as the Elise, and I'd prefer the Elise really. See previous comments on F Type. Too big/GT like for my liking and my mate has one which doesn't do too much for me. Gorgeous looker though.

The BMW M2 is based on a small family saloon, but I’ve owned mine for 4 years and it still makes me smile every time I drive it. Loads of power, entertaining handling and just bloody quick. Also surprisingly practical

@chrispayze, what Cayman were you thinking of getting? I have a 987 Cayman R which I would happily take you for a ride in. I'm based in South Wales. It's a fantastic car and extremely different to the S2000. If you're going 987, you absolutely need to get the 987.2 3.4. Get on the Cayman OC if you want to hear from owners: https://www.caymanoc.com/forums/

I certainly prefer the look (and price!) of a 987, that's a lovely offer, thanks. I might well take you up on it. Can make it a trip in the S to some South Walian roads!

basically you've realised you're screwed?

they dont make cars like this one anymore and it was probably always a unique blend anyway.. better built than a Boxster and more DIYable, more day to day livable and cheaper than a Lotus now

At least let me test drive some nice cars before I get to that conclusion!

The S2000 is not better built than a 987 or more modern 981/718. Not even remotely close. Probably equal to a 986 at best.

Anyway, my offer to test stands - drop me a PM if you're up for it.
