Fantastic stuff!! The previous updates were all from before I joined so this is all new to me and brightened up my afternoon considerably! Such a shame the earlier pictures aren't there but still fascinating :-)

My dad's car came home with a ratchet like that on it one day
He kept it as the dealer charge warranted it he said
Is that a very long shocker and what is the pipe/?

Yes, fancy new dampers, replaces the rear pair with a single unit to save weight, gives a few more spring options too, and it has hydraulic bumpstops inside so it ramps up the damping as it gets close to full compression as well as the spring rate.
Pipe is for hydraulic flow out of the damper, it's a bit beefy but that shock moves a lot of oil, the piston alone is 60mm diameter.
Gives us much better motion ratios too as you can see from how far down the arm that one is compared to the old mounts.

Ooof she's turned out a little bit of a chonk on the scales - square on 900kg fueled and oiled.
A bit more than we wanted, but on the upside we could probably loose 50kg relatively easy once we start refining after some miles. Lighter rear arms, fibreglass bodywork, lithium battery, etc, will drop a chunk fast.

900kg ain't bad.. 850 is better. So just a remote reservoir type thing? Coolio

It's a rich boys toy the Nomad I guess. Still in some ways prefer it to the Atom dunno why. Drove one of those, worst gear change I have experienced on any car ever and that one was very skittish on imperfect roads
400/ton is gonna be manic.. maybe I will catch this in action one day

I mean if we can find some grip with the diff and don't cook the tyres - we're struggling for rear tyres in race compounds at the minute we're stuck on road rubber, and there's only really two places make this size anyway - there's enough headroom in there to take it well past that, but I think pushing much more than 400 on knobbly tyres with our shock loads is asking for trouble without being able to use it most of the time anyway.
We're only picking and playing at a few events for testing this year so if everything is running smooth and the car is dialled in in the morning we might take some passengers out for laps in the afternoon at events. We always used to take the odd person around for a run.
