I had a bit aof a run with a Prelude Type S this morning....... how quick are they?..... I can't find any figures.......

We both started smoothly (no clutch dumping) and ran practically neck and neck with me taking a slight lead (1/4 car lenght) by the 60 speed limit....... where I backed off...... he continued and must have hit 100+ before slamming the brakes on at the next speed camera

I had the airbox cover off so the S made a fantastic sound but I suspect the performance suffered?!

 

The 'lude Type S is a JDM only model I believe. IIRC it has the same 2.2 VTEC lump as our Accord Type R (212bhp I think) when it comes out of the factory but have you ever seen a Japanese car (import or no) that isn't modded??

Good work there, I guess you might have pulled out a lead in 5th gear VTEC

I have to say that the 'lude did sound fairly meaty....... so maybe it was modded in some positive way....... rather than my performance sapping airbox mod?

I did a run through the Heathrow tunnel yesterday...... wow..... amazing sound...... anyone passing the M4 exit owns it to themselves to give it a try....... if you do, take the small single lane tunnel to the left

 

Make a note, next time you're in the Pyrenees take the new tunnel through the mountains on the road from Bourg Madame to Andorra with air-box lid off and HKS exhaust on (the tunnel is 4872 metres long) All I can say is .......

 

the Prelude Type S is the hot 'lude, closed. Tis a rather speedy thing indeed.

as already said, its an JDM car only. I think there is a Type SH as well, but don't ask me for the diffs.
