Default RANT! DVLA, what a shower!

My S has been sat in the dealers now for a week PDI'ed and ready to go but the DVLA in their infinate wisdom have now decided that is to much like hard work registering over the counter anymore.

The paperwork has been sat in the Northampton office now for 3 days and has not been looked at . How long does it take??? According to them its 10 days, what are they doing with it in that time?? :?

I had it booked in this weekend to have the Venture Tape fitted but could not get it there myself because its not been registered so i won't be insured. I had to get one of the salesmen to put trade plates on the car to get it there and i followed him to pick him up. How annoying is that, having to drive behind your new car with someone else driving it!!

Once again another government #### up to wind up the motorist!!!

I might have it by next friday at this rate!! 2 weeks after delivery.

I'm off to cry now.

I had the same problem. It was sitting on the forecourt ready for me to take away but I had to wait for DVLA too. I know how you feel!! These few days will feel like forever, but it'll be worth the wait

all these jobsworth agencies spawned by Blair and co are a real PITA

this is the erosion of freedom much debated elsewhere

trouble is, the Tories or whoever wont have the b*llocks to remove them all

or any

and so the unsprung weight of UK Plc grows and grows

a bit like entropy really ...

DVLC

now they're an Agency and hence a *big* difference in what they can do + how

ironically enough they have more freedom of action ...

Kelk has been waiting for weeks for the DVLA to process the change of ownership forms for the Elise. Literally weeks.

However they are on-time with their reminder for me to renew the road tax for the S. Strange that !

Has the system for new car registrations changed? My local dealer was pre-allocared a series of registrations and was able to tax the car and have everything ready. when I bought it (Including putting my retained number on it) All the DVLA stuff turned up 2 weeks later. took exactly 2 days from yes I'll buy it to driving down the road and that was mostly due to getting the cover note sent through.

Yeah, I spoke to my dealership and they said the current lead time is 6 weeks

However isn't it interesting that the depts which collect money are always on time

I forgot to add that the car is having my personal plate put on it, if the car was just being registered on a normal plate then i think the system you talk about would of been used.

My fault for having my own plate really!!
