c200bhp would be nice
Parking sensors ahem
Nice looking (she likes the newer TT, civic and Scirroccoooo
Cheap ins would be nice
Good for long haul and skip runs

Good question. The TTs seem to be knocking around for 15k.
I wouldnt want to spend >20 as she has bumped the vec 3 or 4 times and picked up 10s of door dings in it

It will be a daily 7 mile ew commuter with weekend runs

I might use it at some point, i contract so move jobs every 18-24 months, so neh dogs. The new civic gets mixed reviews, the vw seems to get better reviews but carries a premium.

Nothing french i think. I'd take some convincing

7 mile commutte in a modern diesel will do it more harm than good, don't get anything with a DPF if you do decide to go down the derv route.

Have you had a look at a Seat EXEO ST or one of the newer diesel Skoda VRS Octavias ..... i'd not stumpy 20% more just to get a VW or an Audi badge. What about a Volvo C30?

Exeo and Octavia will be a very similar size i'd guess, what about that new Focarse that parks itself?

Rear visiblity (and 3/4 visibility) is REALLY bad on the Civic

It's also quite difficult to gauge where the front of the car is when parking (you can't see the end of the bonnet)

And it is WIDE !! IE; it won't fit through a single garage door without folding the mirrors back

If you look at a Type R the ride is bone crunching over poorly surfaced roads

Check the doors for rust (known issue), some iffy clutches about, brittle paint (standard Honda issue), dashboard creaks/ rattles affect some cars

Focus ST is a better car, but won't suit you due to low 20's MPG
