With a max of about 260bhp you will run out of steam quite early is my point

Top speed is all about grunt and aero, not really affected by a few hundred kg of weight hence an S2 will have similar top end to your little beasty

0-60 you'd spank my M3

0-100 you'd keep up

After that you wouldn't see which way it went i expect

I was in the Westfield and left an M3 CSL like you'd leave a 1.6 Ford Focus.

The only reason he came past is because I had no more gears and was doing 142 leptons.

After the next roundabout he stayed behind me so I put on a bit of a show

Dunno how accurate this is

http://www.accelerationtimes.com/mod...rformance-pack

Exige 0-120 20.9

530D 27.7

M3 14.4

Thats sort of my point but if you then had 80-120 or something..

I'd expect that was right because at 70 in an exige it feels like you need another couple of gears as the revs are high

Entrapment.

Nout wrong with that, I used to get it with Porsche drivers (And the odd Ferarri driver) in the Westfield and had it with an Audi R8 whilst on the bike.

This woman was giving me the V's because I flashed her to remove herself from the overtaking lane whilst she was overtaking nothing.

I have come across her several times now, every time she sits in the outside lane. As we discussed, just a standard undertake now.

With a whole load of arm waving / mouth candy / tail hogging to accompany it ..... I'd rather keep both hands on the bars and file smoothly past without getting so wound up. If she's a permanent right lane hogger, nothing you can do is going to educate her. It's the same as flashing your lights at 'tards with their foglights on - they have NO idea what you are doing and if anything, it just increase the chances of them stamping on the brakes or worse.

The sad bit would be if you binned it ( hands not on bars) or she braked hard and you hit her rear end and you wind up potato'd because of it and as far as the law goes, you'd be in the wrong and your helmet camera footage would be used against you. More than ever these days, the safe and sensible option is to sigh inwardly, find a safe way around them and get on with the rest of your journey. What i have found is that the more of a hurry you are in / the more determined you are to enjoy your journey, the more likely you are to run into an idiot.

I notice this much more having gone back from the Aygo to the Honda for a couple of days - the Honda gets me into a position where i catch things AND provides the option of a possible overtake and it changes your driving mindset accordingly. You really have to make an effort to go back to sensible cruise mode when you've run out of space for fun.

My view is that as the driver of the faster / quicker / better handling vehicle who wants to be past, the onus is on you to do it safely or not at all.

The tailgating is quite funny really. I find it usually happens when you are driving to the limit in a 30/40/50.

It's all a bit silly, as it's possible to look up the performance of just about any car and you can see where yours fits in the pecking order. Super-modified sleepers are still rare and don't really count.

I quite like the situation where you've been tailgated at the limit on a single lane road right up to the start of a dc. Provided the road is known and empty, I'll always make a point of getting left immediately but flooring it at the same time, presumably as they do the same for their fly by. It's fun to see if they can cope with me flooring it as they draw level.

So yes, it leaves them floundering in the outside lane looking bit daft (no excuse for ever doing that and leaving someone facing oncoming traffic) but there's nothing for them to hit so the only damage is to their ego. They're not being held up either, as they clearly don't have the power to pass. In addition, just in case they don't read rags like EVO or Autocar, they now know exactly how their car's performance compares to mine. If they want to do their little fly by a mile up the road, that's fine, I'll be doing 60mph and listening to R3 by then and I can give them a nice wave as they pass - usually the one where you join the tip of your thumb and forefinger.

And it's almost ALWAYS a shat diesel repmobile, a 4 x 4 or some horrible tatty chav wagon like a Vectra or Mondeo. Ricers tend to know their place and proper performance cars hang back.

Golly.

You are angry my friend.

As others have said, you can't educate these people, just pass them safely and be on your way.

One day it might be the wrong person driving willing to give you a shunt on your bike. Not wise, nor is recording all this stuff really as if the law saw this, I suspect it would be you getting a stern talking to as although she was driving poorly, you reaction was worse...

don't rise to it and live to have a burn up another day.

That video was several months ago. I just undertake now.

And what exactly could the law do to me. Is it illegal to gesture? I think not. Is it illegal to stay in the outside lane when there is nothing in the inside lane? I think so.
