Just make your point and then let them go. In the move I described, they're not held up anyway, just reminded of their place in the great scheme of things. Everyone's happy, but you're the happiest.

As for getting out of the way in nose to tail traffic with all three lanes rammed - why. And please don't play the 'emergency you couldn't know about' card.

Why the need to "remind them of their place"? Not a criticism, btw, I'm just intrigued

They have obviously forgotten it.

I help people to understand their place all the time.

Their actions are, by implication, trying to remind you of your position so it's only right to point out they are not in an f1.

Is that in the context of them tailgating you first?

What usually happens in these games is that said idiot, on bike or in car, will continue to do ludicrous speeds in a 30 and/or overtake on solid lines split junctions.

I actually pulled over following one biker because of the things he was doing to get away from me. Strawberry jam.

Of course. I've no interest in holding anyone up and what I described doesn't. I will not however exceed a non NSL speed limit to please a tailgater.

I won't exceed any speed limit for a tailgater and I wouldn't expect anyone else to exceed the speed limit if I am trying to get past. Never have that problem though because they are usually well shy of the speed limit. I see people doing 50mph on dual carriage ways with Articulated wagons overtaking them now. And when they notice this, they speed up to 55 so the wagon can't actually overtake and block the whole of both lanes.

Ha ha, what you describe is a tool Gad, road's full of em

I had someone in a chavalier flashing me for overtaking them on an empty NSL, albeit i exceeded the limit that's my business.

The same prick then caught me then sat literally on my bumper through a 30 in a village

Tiny IQs are very common

If they're in the outside lane and won't pull over, give them a quick flash (from a safe distance). If they don't react, gently undertake and be on your way in a calm fashion. Or just pull in a lane and hover in their rear 3/4.

Go about your day with a serenity and poise, realise that most people are idiots and be glad you're not one of them.

Then when the empty road opens up in front of you, enjoy.
Unfortunately it has become rocket science, that's the worrying thing. So many things related to driving have become far too difficult for the great unwashed. It won't be long before parking a car is a lost art, now that most manufactures are offering self parking tech on their new models.

Back on topic. I give people a chance to move over (without flashing my lights), most fail to react to the car behind them, so I undertake. They have no idea that they are holding up 30 other cars by driving in "their fast lane". Nothing I do will ever get them to shift over.

Everyone seems to think they are more important than everyone else, so have no need to move over for others, or they don't know what the hell they are doing behind the wheel of their "shat diesel repmobile, a 4 x 4 or some horrible tatty chav wagon like a Vectra or Monde" and no amount of flashing, horn beeping or fist shaking will get them to move.
