that's the kind of contest I'd like to see

as long as they also raced F1 cars
I would still back sabine - because the setup on a modern F1 would have to be so compromised to actually work on that circuit.. DC would have less of an advantage than you might think..

with the ride height they use.. you would tear off the plank in karrusell... and I don't know how good they are on the jumps

I would let them go around in a WRC subaru..

You argument is slightly flawed in the the Ring that you cite him as very good at is the ever-so-dull GP circuit, which is NOTHING like the Nordschliefe.

Sabine has well over 15,000 laps of the full size track under her feminine belt, has WON the 24 Ring race and her everyday job is to drive fast around the bloody thing!

I would say that makes her more qualified than just about ANYONE else on the planet in that respect - oh, and she's as fit as a butchers dog.

Cheers Rich - glad I'm not entirely making this up as I go along!

But, the bikes vs cars argument is a good one - both people have paid to drive the track and should be allowed to drive on the racing line if they want to, regardless of speed. However, if you are obviously holding up traffic by acting as a mobile chicane, then a sensible, aware driver should pull over and let the faster traffic past.

IMHO car drivers need to be super-aware of bikers at the Ring (both slow, corner-hoggers and where-the-hell-did-he-come-from type) as we can all-too easily kill or severely injure a biker if we aren't paying attention.

At the same time, bikers need to act sensibly and be aware also. Its their lives and bones at risk, so don't act like a prat on your Megasuperbladebusa. I've been overtaken and undertaken simulataneously by two bikers and I'm not exactly trundling along in first gear. The undertaking biker was f**king lucky I glanced in my mirror before moving out of the overtaking biker's way, otherwise he would have been head first into the armco. Twat.

So, my conclusion is that all drivers AND riders should be very aware of each other and not take stupid chances. You can always do another lap later on - you can't if you're dead.

Thanks guys for posting this vid. Sabine is my new HERO! It is amazing watching her tracking (all the way) out at full throttle while the GT3 seldom dares to venture beyond the middle of the track. Great stuff.

Cal

PS A few years back my son managed to rent a 911 for a weekend and did three laps of the 'Ring. He brought back some nice video and told me about the Ring Taxi.
