Had I known the lights on the MX5 would fail, then yes, the van would have been a brilliant idea.

I've always found that the best way to get used to a new bike or car is to take it for a fairly long drive, settle into a rhythm and gradually push myself, my mate agreed this would be good for him to learn more about what he is capable of, with me just behind should anything untoward happen.

Ideas like this always seem good at the time!
