No mods planned. I'm skint now.

Might get the wheels blacked at some stage. Or even get a set of the 18" M3 wheels and black them.

Been lurking on the "dark side", but not signed up.

Would have loved a white but they were impossible to find with the spec I wanted e.g. cruise control. Red was second choice, and I do like it.
I'm guessing you're finding the CDV fine at the mo then? The modified one of those was easily the best 40 quid I've spent but I know some cars are more affected than others.

I also found the shorter aftermarket gearknob has helped improve the 'change (although not to S2000 quality, of course!)

I can understand your lurking over on the "dark side" - most of the threads do tend to be taken over by the Americans and who knows what Gad would do if he was on there with the amount of spamming that goes on...?!!

I tend to lurk more than post too (although, having said that, I do that here too...!)

I'm impressed you managed to find a white Z4MR at all - I don't think I've ever seen one in the UK?

Red does look good though.

I personally think you need an Alpina spoiler to finish the rear off...?

Never found a white R, but did find a white C.

No cruise tho, and too much

I knew it wouldn't take long...!

There was a guy on the "dark side" who had what I would call the perfect looking M roadster but he's sold it and removed all the pics from photobucket so the thread I wanted to link you to is useless!

However, this should give you an idea:

Project Alpina

And here's a thread with a few for you to look at (the Alpina being number 3):

Rear Spoilers

I don't know why but I just think it finishes off the rear of the car perfectly.

Anyway hope that helps (your research, if not your wallet...! )

Ahhh a BMW issue eh?

My Riss Racing CDV arrived a few days ago.

Going to get my local car repair place to swap the stock one out as I really don't want my dealer finding out.

Apparently the stock CDV is terrible, and the Riss Racing one has a slightly bigger hole making quick gearchanges feel 'normal' again.

The stock CDV in my 06 S2000 was terrible too.

Dave - I wasn't going to 'mod' either, but also got a new BMS Intake, new white angel eyes, BMW Performance shadowline grills and thinking about getting the BMW Performance exhaust!

Nice one Blurter

Don't forget to drive it like you've stole it, it's the only way with the Z4m.

Enjoyed reading your posts and look foward to many more

It would appear it is a BMW issue (although as I said, it seems that it affects some cars more than others).

I got my modified CDV from Zeckhausen and had it fitted by a friend of a friend to avoid the dealer knowing too (sensible option... )

I can understand why you've been tempted to mod - some of the parts look quite tasty!

Oh, and has it arrived yet Andy?!! I've been on holiday and playing catch up with the forum but I'm sure I'd have noticed if you'd posted a thread on it!

Have you got the CSLs / CSL reps ready and waiting too?

Anyway, back to topic - Dave, I'll give you a month at best before you give in to temptation...

Had a read of some of the numerous manuals I got with the car last night.

The Z does feel much wider than the S. It is actually 154mm wider (about 6"). The length is 17mm shorter, and it's 17mm taller than the S.

Looking at the weight, the quoted figure is 1485kg for the roaster (10kg less than the coupe). Interestingly that figure includes a 75kg driver and 90% fuel load. I know that some manufacturers weight figures are with no fuel or passenger, and with all fluids drained from the car. Guess the weight without driver and fuel is about 1380kg.

Ok, sorry to bore you
