I'm trying to find a link that I had to the US vehicle fault reporting statistics, massive catchment and government run so data is of all reported faults and not just the demographic that happens to buy warranty insurance from a particular company..
What does WD being an insurance company have to do with anything?

Why do you think Porsche charge 2 1/2 times as much for a warranty?

Lol, ok, why is Citroen showing as being more reliable than Honda?

Why is the average repair cost of the Honda far higher than the Porsche?

Do you really believe that the statistics of 75 and 25 percent are really based on a minimum of fifty cars? I bet its really three VSA and one engine!

More results from Sweden. See pages 11 &13 http://feed.ne.cision.com/wpyfs/00/0...EA/wkr0006.pdf

Again I ask: Why is the Porsche Warranty so expensive?

More Warranty Direct figures - the give the percentage of actual breakdowns: http://www.gizmag.com/10-model-redes...nt-work/21266/

Either way, there is no way the Boxster is as reliable as an S2000. It just isn't.

No, not affiliated.

Any idea on the difference in OEM Warranty Cost?

I'm under the impression that if the Porker was as reliable as an S2000, it would be more expensive to buy on the used market. They are devestatingly cheap, yes a posers car but a bloody good one at that. To own one, you really have to be in a deep and meaningful relationship with your Indy.. just to keep nasty surprise costs down. It is on my "gotta own one" list, despite the risk of issues.

No idea at all!

Was interesting reading your link that said Warranty Direct's figures show the 987 to be 38% LESS reliable than the 986, something is really not right there.

The 987 was 35.7% less reliable.

38% likelihood of failure vs 28% for the 986.

I'll help you out. The Porsche warranty is more expensive because they have to pay out more money, more often because their cars break down more often, which means they are less reliable.

No you clearly don't - it's the list of 20 car models with the highest frequency of breakdowns!

Cam belts, chains, axle faults...

Unless you mean it's surprisingly less shit than the 159
