Default Scammed by my old car?

While selling the S i've had a few offers for Trades and part ex deals.
Received one yesterday asking if I'd like to swop for a Cooper S Works. I replied asking for more details and photos.

Got a reply this morning, good spec list, very similar to the one I sold a few years ago. Clicked the photo link at the bottom of his email and surprise surprise up pops my own website with the photos I took of my old car! Gave the guy I sold it too a ring to just make sure he hadn't sold it and the new owner was just reusing the pics, which he hadn't and still has the car.

I've taken down the page now and replaced it with a warning for other people who might be getting scammed. Is there any danger that my old car could be a target for being stolen to order? Or if I went along with this scam would it just turn out to be "send me a draft and I'll get the car to you crap"

?

If you're on to them, why not play along and see how far it goes?

While this is possible, MINI's are so common that IMO, it'd be pretty unlikely...

still, get the feds involved.

With hindsight you should have left your old website up and got the fuzz involved. Reel the bastards in.
