Default Shed Build

Currently planning a move

Figuring out my requirements so if anyone has input would be good (nothing daft - it doesnt need a helipad)

I always wanted sep space for the bike where it would be easy to work on them, plus the new place has a smaller garage (i know, wtaf)

so..

Electric
2 x trickle chargers (sub 150w ea)
LED lights (assume sub 100w)
1 x infrared heater (think max 1.5kw but in reality 1kw will do based on my experience

given the trickle will run off 2 sockets and the heater can run off one i dont need much on that front. cant think of anything i missed (i can re use the sockets and stick a radio/bt speaker in there)

Floor
needs to be solid to take bikes
and low to allow easy in/out
need a ramp to be nice to the bikes

doors
i need double so i can ride in off a potential future commute
need to be secure as one is a dirt bike

windows
none or those slit windows and opaque high up for security

general
pressure treated for longevity

roof
something better than felt

pondering bespoke built but broadly this kind thing

https://content.gardenbuildingsdirec...s-sprx0004.jpg

mounted.. dunno. could patio it so removal would look ok

any experience lending ideas?

I've built two fairly over engineered sheds, one 6x3.5m on concrete base with power and drainage for a brewery, one 3x2m on blocks. Happy to share designs etc. I did a lot of research. Ping me on Facebook.

In my experience a double door on the long side allows better access to everything. On the end as in the photo requires wading the entire length of the shed to access what's at the other end. Multiple doors are better.

Pretty sure Ian had a shed built somewhat recently. @AquilaEagle

It's not US size Chuck
I could put a single side door in but my current plan has no such space

Doors at the end are because it's fitting in a relatively narrow bit of my teeny tiny garden
here is a plan, I need double doors on the end so I can wheelie heroically in after a hard day catching baddies (in the office)

It could be longer to accommodate a single door at the non motorbike end
excuse my scribbles

If you fancy going more modern than the graph paper, I've found floorplanner.com really useful for doing room layouts.

Not so much a ‘shed’ as a baby garage.

Bit of a first sketch

it will fit here (our garden is tiny)

Putting slabs in as a base then nicer slabs for a patio
