for show
the more expensive the car in the first place
the less inclined I am to carry out any modifications
but it's always going to be a personal thing and things change
when I were a lad, people spent their money on isopon and stuff
now it's anodised tyre caps and stuff

It's a hobby - does it need to make sense?
Some people spend a fortune on designer clothes and others hide in bushes with enormously expensive cameras photographing birds
we love our cars and lavish them with gifts and trinkets
(some of which amazingly actually benefit a car built to make a profit)
live and let live

As said earlier, its a hobby and we all need them
I have 4 bikes, 2 Mountain bikes and 2 Road racers. One of the road bikes is an ex Tour de France team bike and cost over £6k. ~The other one was a 'mere' £3k.
To a lot of people that would seem a crazy amount of cash but if its your 'thing' its money well spent.
The team bike is a joy to ride, is stunningly fast and is all carbon fibre.
Total cost of the bikes, and all the clothing, helmet and general paraphernalia is well over £10k but is a drop in the ocean compared with £43k

Thing is, that 43k could have been over 8 years ..... i bet some of you have spent that on family hatchbacks in the same time frame
It's now how you spend it, it's not what you spend ... it's whether you can enjoy it enough to justify spending it - other than that, it's only money

... on another note though, when I joined this forum about 7 years ago someone forecast that when the S got to a price point where they were very affordable, the 'modders' would move in as they have with many other Hondas.
I like tasteful mods (Mikey's being the epitome of proper modifications) but recently there seems to be an increasing number of new members adding what I would call Tat to their cars.
Its a shame .... and I suspect only the beginning.
Or maybe I'm just getting old

Different age groups have different tastes. I'd never consider fitting a huge wing to the rear of mine, it would get in the way of the polishing
I'd also never fit extra body parts to it - i love the shape of it and the lines of it.
Wheels powdercoated, painted calipers, decent exhaust ... nice induction kit .. decent audio ( just the exhaust and induction kit ot go) and other than wash it and keep it clean .. enjoy driving it
It's always nice to see people do different things to make the car their own, whether you approve or would do it to yours is a moot point for me at least.
