Default Snow at last!

I was becoming concerned we were not going to get any snow this year, but thankfully we had an inch or two yesterday evening; yippee!

I awoke this morning to find it nice and cold, so with the snow still on the road I could put my A8 luxo-barge's 4WD to the test. I am delighted to say the car hasn't disappointed. There's a steep-ish hill leading from my house out of the village and giving it 'some' the car simply dug-in, and with a momentary flicker of the TCS light, it wafted up the hill.

The car is on summer tyres too.

It is important to remember however that there's the inertia from 1.8 tonnes of vehicle to consider when braking...

Nothing down here in south essex. All we've got is pissing rain and high winds.

Where the f*** is this rain coming from. feel sorry for people with flooded homes.

Never tried it in my 4motion Golf - looks like fun, although I think I'd want a bigger play area with less trees

No snow here, well North of the Watford Gap !

Very little rain, and Sunny right now anyway....

'tis a tad on the windy side though I have to say.....60mph plus probably with anything over 80mph predicted...

Tell you what; slushy roads are like a rally stage with SH-AWD!

One must allow for stopping, though. And don't bottle it, either - it goes all understeery/VSA.

Gaaaah! Jealous!

I'm starting to believe that I'll have no use for my winter wheels here in Manchester.
(well, strictly speaking I'm East of Manchester near Hyde)

CBA to use them when the temp is hovering around the 8,6,8,9 deg mark, summers have been hanging on fine so far.

The most fun I've had was driving (and racing) a Saab 9-3 estate V6 4WD on a frozen lake in Sweden.
All there was to hit were cones and piles of snow. I was the only driver not to need pulling out of a drift by a tractor during the race session, which made me very smug.
