So whats next for honda?
Is this it?
The S2000 ends production soon, doesnt seem to be any other interesting/desirable cars out in the future from Honda?
With all this gay energy efficient hydro poo seems they are concentrating on those.
I'd sure as hell buy another car off honda if it met certain requirements, but i cant see it???

My next Honda will most likely be an Asimo...
Actually didn't realise how impressive Asimo was. Watched a programme about it last night. Excellent stuff.

Honda are an engineering company and this includes making cars.
However, they are a Company which means they exist to make money.
There is the Z4/Boxster/MX-5 Sportscars for people to choose from already, an S2000 type replacement will only be understood by those with a decent level of intelligence and Since intelligence isn't a prerequisit for financial success, people will buy the Z4/Boxster if they do have a bit of money or the MX-5 if not.
A new S2000 would only cause them to lose money.
Whereas a funky econobox that comes from the FCX Clarity/Insight/Hybrid people means you pay less road tax.
I'm sure it is sickening for the engineers there, but ultimately it is the only way the company are going to make money in this climate.

The rumour is the engineers wanted to do a CRZ Type-R, but were not allowed in case it detracts from the sanctimony of the base car.
We're not getting the Acuras for the foreseeable. Since the pretentious won't buy a Honda, Acura is most likely to get the 'Tegs and S2000s and NSX replacements, if the market conditions are right for their return.
The new coupe seems to have evolved into something I'd not really need (ZDX) and the spirit of automotive innovation has flown for the reasons Ron describes.
It is therefore now highly unlikely I shall buy a new Honda car. Which is a bit of a shame; I do admire a lot of the engineering, still.
