Default Sold the S2000.. bought this:

Unfortunately the S2K had to go. I managed to sell it of £5400 (MY 2000, 81000 miles). I needed something cheaper to run and good for long journeys so I got a 2006 320i with 67000 miles on the clock for £5700. I miss the S2000 a lot, but I'm sure I will own one again within a few years.

Good choice, I'm currently in a 2013 320d hire car and I'm really impressed! I like the looks, and the size of the car, very comfy, I love how efficient the engine is too - 70ish MPG and it's stop start feature, and the idrive with it's heads up screen in the middle of the console is fantastic.

My brother almost sold me his 2005 530d cheap the other week, I kind of regret not going for it now...

Is it more efficient? Can't be by much.

I have to admit to looking at 330d's for similar reasons. The S only really gets used for commuting, which is a bit of a waste, and quieter/more practical/more economical sounds good.

It is about 8-10 MPG more efficient on the motorway, mainly due to the cruise control. Also insurance is only 600 (instead of 1200) + a things started to wear out on the S2000.

Life is too short IMO for functional cars unless you do big miles

But everyone has a different view, glad you're enjoying it
