Default Some sensible justice

posting this to give hope to anyone faced with the same situation.......

flashed last year (manual camera) - 64 in a 50

got the fixed penalty offer, which I was 'happy' to take

but forgot to pay it

when I did, the payment was returned - apparently I was one day late ffs

so then the summons follows and I fear a savaging at the hands of the magistrates

BUT, common sense prevailed

I pleaded guilty, explained how sorry I was, but that it was really just poor admin that led to me appearing in court, and asked if they could please treat the offence as if it was the fixed penalty

to my pleasant surprise, they agreed

for some common sense

had to pay

Yep, I'll have to be extra careful now I've lost a few lives

The annoying thing is, I'm not working for at least the next couple of weeks but I didn't know that would be the case at the time.

Mine has 12 or 15 points on it at the moment. I'm collecting them, but don't want any more in the next 12 months.

What astounds me is how efficient they are at processing the payment and endorsements. It was back in a couple of days from when I posted it. Funny how it all works so well when it involves taking money off you
oh yes, anything that takes money works a treat

even the government systems

ever found the IR site unable to take bank transfers?

or the DVLA site refusing to allow you to renew your car tax?

still, that would make a good new whinging thread

where's Jo?

I have been done for speeding in Switzerland (twice actually).
They hide the cameras to blend in with the surroundings, so no easy spot like here.
The killer was I got charged an admin fee from the car hire company which was almost as much as the fine.
The final figures were

Is it purely co-incidence that today, there is an article on the BBC about the chaos & incompetence of the County Courts?

Funny how the system's so swish at raping money out of motorists!
