At 5pm last night I had an email saying we have looked at the reg plate and we can't find any car with that reg plate, but we have a lead and will investigate. Then 10pm last night I had a call from Sussex Police asking what MY reg plate was so they can check the ANPR camera going out of town when I was driving, to see if they can work out which car it was and get a check on it as they can't match the reg plate I had provided.

So doesn't make a whole heap of difference if you get the reg plate and report it, and you get a police person who is looking into it the buggers who do these things are using improper plates ...

 

Sounds quite reasonable to me.
