Default Compustar 2000AS

Just wondering if anyone has one and if so does your transmitter beep when someone is paging you or when your alarm is going off. I'm not sure if mine is broken or not.

Also does anyone know where I might be able to pickup another transmitter, i've contacted Compustar already with no luck.

Check your setup on the pager. I can set mine (Viper pager) to check every 2 seconds or so on the car, or not at all.

AFAIK you cannot have the pager "ping" the car on a regualr basis. Your best bet is to get a couple of cell phones or radios and a buddy. Then walk away and have him set off the alarm. Do this repeatedly until you no longer recieve alerts.

Compustar only sells through authorized resellers. You should call them back and ask for the names of shops in your area. You should be able to buy one from there. Expect to pay about $50 USD.

Thank you SSS2K and ruexp67 for your feedback.Well the folks from Compustar called me back and referred me to a local shop like you mentioned ruexp67. My local store then called me and gave me an astronomical price of $180 Cdn ($138USD). If you could get me a transmitter for $50USD I would gladly pay you the money and a bit extra for your efforts. You wouldn't even have to ship to Canada, I have an address in the States. Please let me know if you can help me out. Thanks ahead!

I was guessing on the price, and am VERY surprised that you were quoted so much! Mabey that is what they are charging.

I'll call my local shop for you and see if the price is cheaper.

It's no problem. I am in a training class this week, so I don't think I will be able to contact them this week.
