Ok, not exactly a summonds but a court date, but I can just plead guilty by post if I want. 24 over the limit.

I think you can (not my field, so not 100% certain) but in my view you would be ill-advised to do so unless it's a long way from home and will be a major hassle to get there. You haven't been offered a fixed penalty notice so the court could very well hit you with a fine considerably more than
