Just saw this on the beeb site
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7790336.stm

Everyday I see girls texting while driving, having almost been killed by a careless driver a couple of years ago this makes my blood boil.

I'm no Police Officer, but I always yell at people to get off their bloody phones when driving...drives me up the flippin' wall.

There is no point - just try and get as far away from them as possible.

Im all for it...Im the Self appointed road police!!....Im the one who flashes people sitting in the middle lane of the Motorway doing 55mph totally oblivious to the fact that they are causing traffic to bottle neck to get around them. People sitting in the fast lane doing 60mph that will not get over when there is nothing in the middle lane get approx 2 mins before they get the full beam to move....You are causing an obstruction idiots!! Under no circumstances should you under take!

Boy racers with Fogs on get Full Beam from me ...... people who do not indicate get the horn...people expect you do guess what they are going to do!! To55ers!! If you can't drive how you have been taught to then get off the damn road!!

Young girls on their phones are the worst! Had one yesterday when I was on my way to work swerving from middle lane to fast lane I dare not overtake thinking she was drink driving!! Nope she was texting!! She got a blast from the horn and a polite get off your phone gesture!

Taking action is pointless - they don't know it's at them.

As I said - get past these jokers as fast as possible - they are someone elses accident

I don't care about people talking on the phone - but I very often see girls texting while driving.

Its hard to think of anything more stupid. I find it effective (when on a dual carraigeway) to drive beside them at exactly the same speed - they then look over and immediately stop.

Guilt can be an effective weapon

I had a black cab driver on his mob phone when taking me to a hotel a few weeks ago. I should have reported him as he was an obtuse twat anyway

In most instances I would agree with you, but texting whilst driving is tantamount to knocking back several pints of ale whilst behind the wheel, would you happily sit back and watch somebody drive along whilst drinking alcohol ?

In fact I'd go as far to say that texting whilst in 'control' of an automobile is far worse than drink driving and it ought to carry an automatic ban.
