Default Thinking of a new S2000

Hello all, just sold the TVR and seriously looking at an S2000. My shortlist prior to the TVR was an S2000, Chimaera and an Elise. I opted for the Chimaera for the sheer sense of occasion...After 2 years, I can honestly say I must have found a good one as I hardly had any problems with it. I was very sad to see it go. Anyway, taking the TVR on long blasts to the continent still gave me nagging doubts, not to mention the fortune it cost in servicing, so am looking to get back into the game with an S2000 which I will keep for many years.

I have got my eye on a revised version 3 Nuremburg blue at S2000-4u.com
Unfortunately they are closed this week so I can';t actually pop down. The price looks ok (

The search engine is a bit crap but there is a LONG thread from a few weeks back regarding s2000 4 u - it's worth having a look for it. (Sorry, I can't be arsed to wrestle with the search engine myself to find it for you! )

Opinion seemed to be divided. Those people on here who had done business with the guy seemed to have had decent experiences. On the other hand, he seems to have something of a murky past, with (unsubstantiated, as far as I can see) allegations of clocking of cars and the involvement of Trading Standards.

By revision 3, I assume you mean the MY04 model? Depending on mileage, the price you mention isn't unreasonable, especially if it's a GT. Also have a look at the For Sale & Wanted board on here - I think we've had a couple of Moon Rock cars up for sale recently, although I don't recall whether they''ve now been sold or not.

I sold my S2000 for a TVR Griffith ...... nothing wrong with the Griff (no it hasn't had anything go wrong) but I do miss the S ..... and would still have it as well if I could afford to!

The S2K is a completely different beast but one I am sure you would love. Very much easier to drive than a TVR but you will have to get used to thrashing it..... which it loves!

Good luck if you get one ....
