WTF i had 30K to spend before i bought the S, and to be honest there wasnt anything i liked anyway near the S, BMW, TVR, SLK, !! i wouldnt bother if i was you, unless your talking 50K+

 

M3, well I would say that, only down side is running costs, but if you dont do too many miles that may not even be a problem

 

I ended up looking at GT2's AMV8's etc and then decided to spend less on tweaking my current S

 

Don't go for the Alfa Spider.

I'm an Alfa fan, I loved my 156.

When the Spider came out I test drove the 2 litre and the 3.2
I almost cried because they were awful.
Yes it was beautiful to look at, but lousy to drive.

 

Boxster got to be an option.

I'd suggest something like an m3, purely on the basis that quite a few of my friends have tried to move to porsche turbos from vx/s2000 basis and just not had the cash for it but realised they needed a stop-gap

m3s seem like a familiar stop gap.

 

I cant imagine looking (seriously) at GT2's (
