those new range rover things.
The disco 3 was going to be built on an Exploder chassis if the Solihul boys didnt get their act together , Ford gave them 6 months to design some thing that might hold together. Hence gear box and drive train are not LR made, but come from outside now , Darla i think
What is the point? Someone please explain because unless it's to piss off the green party I don't get it, weighs the same as a tank, drinks like a tank, has no guns like a tank, panels dent like a car.
Will always be driven by nobs

Tanks don't kill people. Guns do. Unless it's Tianenmen Square.
People usually purchase-justify on the grounds of space for children, or somesuch. Yet that is largely an illusion created by a high, square roofline & the legroom is in reality far more cramped than a transverse-engined MPV or a even regular-sized estate car, neither of which require the ridiculously-wide wheelset to stop them falling over.
The reality must be "image". Otherwise you'd just buy a Cash & Carry or a C of E, which are closer to a C-segment in packaging & running costs terms.

I was told the reason for buying one; in this particular instance was , 1) Road presence 2) Space 3) Practicality 4) Safety etc etc !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think road presence means to ability to bully other drivers

They are one of our customers.
Its called the Evoque.
The chassis is shared with the latest Freelander.
You WILL be seeing alot of these - ALL production slots for the next 9 months are allocated & customer cars have just started going out this month.
The FWD version has very low CO2 so will become a favourite when it is launched early next year.
I've never been a fan of JLR product but this is actually very good.
LSB loves it because it sits high, she can see more and "feels" safer.
Next generation will have an aluminium/bonded bodyshell to further reduce the weight.
The factory hate the contrasting roof colour as they have to take it off the line and repaint the roof taking an extra 4 hours per car

Regardless of who likes it, it is still shit.
High c of g, heavy, not very aerodynamic. It's a D&G car driven by a badge obsessed nobber IMO.
An X5 driver attempted to kill me on the bike recently, in hindsight I wish I'd have reacted more than I did. There is no need for 4x4s on the road, they're not safer, they are worse at avoiding accidents in the first place and people drive them with a false sense of security
They should not have airbags IMO
