Time for a change?

I've seen loads of exotic cars being passed by lower end stuff on trackdays, I've done it myself, but it just means the person drving the expensive car is new to it or doesnt fancy stoving thier 100k pride and joy and are taking it steady, there's usually a good reason.
the few that I have seen have had more than their fair share of nobbers in scrapper Sierras and the like
I'd take a few more risks and would care a lot less about damage in something that cost me £2K than something that cost me £100K

Not got much time but essentially overall it is too much of a compromise for a track focussed toy.
Relatively speaking:
- Heavier
- Costlier
- less specific ones as track toys therefore less advice/help out there.
ODM - there's a thread on the main board that Hyper started regarding racing an S2000. Some good views there.
Mark B and Ralston will be able to offer some good ideas to this thread.

Was hoping you hadn't remembered that thread as I wanted to hear your thoughts afresh
It's an area that interests me as of late I'm hearing a lot of genuinely valid reasons why the S isnt perhaps the best choice for limits driving (as Moggy is alluding to, and likley for the same reasons I'm hearing from well respected driving coaches and chassis specialists); As you say Moggy, comprimised.
I suppose this raises the question however of what it is that Mark wants to achieve here and whether he wants to occasionally drive the car on track for a few jollies (ie, within those limits) or whether he's looking to develop the car and himself in the direction of competition.
Over to you Mark?

Bu the Bookatrack days are generally populated with nice cars, and they weed out the idiots pretty quickly. The rules on overtaking make car to car contact (as Jonny BaT says) almost impossible, as you can't do it on corners and by consent only on the straights. I reckon you should come along, you'd like it

I think your concern definately applies to the Ring though, and a lot of badly run airfiled days.

CSL seems the best option there, and a fast runabout to go with it, like an S2000, Clio etc.
I may go and test drive a GTR later, if it stops raining

I wouldn't read too much into that Mark other than the GT3 must have been slow for a driver related reason clearly.
I've decided a DC2 wouldn't be fast enough though, on reflection of my ownership... as noisy as the Exige too.
