Time for a change?
If the CSL isn't the car you'd use on track then surely a plain M3 would be a better road proposition; perhaps a V8 jobber like the one Mr Mike has just bought?
I wouldnt buy a CSL for non-track use personally, would be like buying a race horse and using it to just pull a cart
I'd say the same for the GT3.

A CSL is neither a track car or a road car, it's an in the middle, as standard anyway.
If your serious about track buy an a gt3 or a track special.
In my eyes the GTR is a one fits all kind of car which I expect would get boring after a while.
FYI you can tune a Cayman S to 350 horse for not a lot of money, but then you would need suspension etc.
You really have the best combination now you know?

I just don't get the fascination with the GTR. I really don't. Maybe it's because I had the run of my old man's R34 GRR but I don't see any extra value in the R35 over the R34.
Gearbox - Incredibly fast shifting, but completely lacks the interaction of a manual
Engine - RB26 from the R34 is a much better engine tuned, and far more characterful. I don't like the engine in the R35 - it's a powerplant, not an engine. It sounds shite as well, even with a Milltek.
I think i've said before but IMO you would be loads better getting an R34 and the change.
I think you would get more enjoyment out of an M3 - 80% of the performance, much better engine sound, and with the right geo just as good handling, and even more throttle adjustable.
A CSL is even more exciting, and the suspension is no worse than the GTR IMO

I think the fascination is that its so good out of the box, a jack of all trades and very good value.
Much like the original I guess but what appears to be a more finished off package.
I kinda agree on the engine, the old engine was very sweet sounding and had lots of character, i've not been in a new one yet but I can sort of imagine it being very smooth like a nuclear reactor or something
As for the gearbox, I prefer a manual everytime.

I don't get the track "need for speed" Mark.
For example, my Elise is plenty quick enough and great fun... though it's no where near as fast as a decent sped bath-tub, gt3, gtr, csl etc etc etc.
but then again, I'm sane about my car purchases!
